Wishing for a Slots Jackpot
There we were. All of us 21 except Kyle who was 23. It was my first time in Las Vegas and I never thought this would happen. We had all decided to take a road trip, me, Carey and Kyle, Carey’s Boyfriend.
Ive heard things about Las Vegas my whole life. How crazy it is, how fun it is, how dangerous, you name it. But winning big in Vegas? I guess I always thought people lose more money there than win.
Boy, was I wrong. Down at the hotel casino Kyle and Carey were gambling on the dollar slots, and I decided to play a little. There was one machine that caught my eye. It was red and bright. I sat down and put in a dollar. The very first time, 25 dollars! I was exited! First time gambling and 25 bucks! “Not bad!” I thought, with a smile. I kept going, dollar after dollar. Sometimes it would go up, and sometimes it would drop a little.
Finally Kyle and Carey saw me and came over to my “winning machine” they were impressed. The machine was at about 300 dollars when I wanted to cash out! Kyle and Carey convinced me to keep going. After about 30 dollars, I was ready to cash out, but kept going! It was Vegas after all.
I agreed on only 2 more dollars. First dollar, I lost $100. “great!” I said sarcastically to them. It didnt concern me to much however. “last dollar!” said Carey. We gathered around really close. I put in the last dollar, pulled the big shinny handle and at the same time, we all wished for the jackpot.
